Post-Gamejam updates


The Pirate Software gamejam is over and I have been working on this game ever since the initial submission. Let's go over the changes!

Major additions

  • New interactive level selection screen
  • More levels (50 in total)
  • Save/Load system (Not very useful in the WebGL build, but believe me when I say that it is there :P)

QoL

  • An in-game menu
  • A game-speed slider
  • You can now hover over portals to see where they lead to (before you had to find out with trial and error)

Visual updates

  • Particle effects for portals, player movement, fireflies and the goal post
  • Changed collectable stars to firefly eggs that you have to squash
  • Higher resolution star images in post-level screen
  • Fixed camera size on different screen resolution

Bug fixes

  • Sometimes, resetting while inside a portal would break the game
  • Two flowers were able to occupy the same position, now you just die
  • Death sound failed to play when the player died by getting itself stuck
  • Player was able to go back inside a portal it just exited

Here is the stuff that I'm still working on:

  • Level 51 (The boss fight) (66% done)
  • Controller support (0% done)
  • Integrate Steam achievements (0% done)
  • UI design improvements (20% done)
